Summary
eBillity has enhanced its time and expense tracking by allowing users to attach up to five files to every time and expense entry. Supporting PNG, JPG, HEIC, PDF, XLSX, and DOCX files (up to 10MB each), this feature makes it easier to store receipts, invoices, work orders, contracts, and other supporting documents alongside every record. Attachments are also visible directly from the Manage Entries screen, giving businesses a more organized, efficient, and audit-ready workflow.
New Feature: Add Up to 5 Attachments to Time & Expense Entries
Keeping supporting documents connected to your work just got a whole lot easier. We’re excited to introduce one of our most requested enhancements: you can now attach up to five files to every time and expense entry, making it easier than ever to keep receipts, documents, photos, and supporting information organized in one place.
Whether you’re tracking billable work, managing expenses, or preparing invoices, everything you need is now attached directly to the entry.
What’s New?
Our latest update expands attachment capabilities across both time and expense tracking.
Time Entries (All Plans)
Previously, time entries didn’t support attachments.
Now you can add up to five files to every time entry, making it simple to include:
- Project notes
- Client approvals
- Photos from a job site
- Supporting documentation
- Signed work orders
No more searching through emails or shared folders to find the information tied to your work.
Expense Entries (Billing, Premium & LawBillity)
Expense entries previously allowed only a single attachment.
With this update, you can now attach up to five files to each expense, making it easy to keep together:
- Multiple receipts
- Invoices
- Credit card slips
- Warranty documents
- Additional supporting paperwork
This is especially useful when a single expense requires several pieces of documentation.
View Attachments Without Opening Each Entry
We’ve also made attachments easier to manage. Attachments now appear directly on the Manage Time Entries and Manage Expense Entries screens, allowing you to quickly see which entries include supporting files without opening each record individually. This saves time when reviewing entries, approving timesheets, or preparing invoices.
Supported File Types
The new attachment feature supports many of the most used business file formats, including:
- PNG
- JPG
- HEIC
- XLSX
- DOCX
Whether you’re uploading a photo from your phone, a scanned receipt, or an Excel spreadsheet, your files are ready when you need them.
Attachment Limits
To keep uploads fast and reliable:
- Attach up to 5 files per time or expense entry
- Each file can be up to 10 MB
- Multiple supported file types can be combined within the same entry
This gives you plenty of flexibility while maintaining optimal system performance.
Why This Matters
Supporting documentation is an important part of accurate billing, expense management, and project tracking.
With multiple attachments available on every entry, your team can:
- Keep all supporting documents together
- Reduce time spent searching for files
- Improve billing accuracy
- Simplify approvals
- Maintain better project records
- Strengthen audit trails
Everything related to the work performed stays with the entry itself.
